The Brekete (or gun-gon in Dagombe) is the bass drum accompanying the Dagombe talking drum Lunna. It is hung on the shoulder and marched with. It has a huge, thick sound. A small goatskin string gives it a characteristic buzzing sound. 

In a non-traditional context, it goes well with folk songs, carols, and "old" European music. When tuned correctly, it is a beautiful tamburo rullante.
